FAQs
What activities are there for kids at the zoo?
If you’ve got a little one between the ages of 3 and 8, you’ll want to bring them to the Kids’ Farm. They’ll enjoy seeing some pretty rare animals, such as goats from San Clemente Island and hogs from Ossabaw Island. Hands-on experiences include grooming the animals in the Caring Corral with the help of keepers.
Can I take the metro to the zoo?
Yes, and it's the smartest way to travel. Not only is it environmentally better but parking at the National Zoo is extremely limited and usually fills up by 9:30 a.m. The Woodley Park and Cleveland Park Metro stops are both within walking distance. The former stop is uphill while the latter stop is flat.
